Alysia Hanes
Aly Hanes is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Education in Counseling and Developmental School Counseling from Lamar University and an undergraduate degree in Exercise Sports Science. With two decades of experience in education and counseling, including 16 years as an elementary school physical education coach, Aly has a heart for helping children, teens, adults, and families feel supported, understood, and equipped to keep moving through life’s challenges.
Aly has served as an elementary school counselor, providing individual and small group counseling, crisis support, conflict resolution, trauma-informed care, and social-emotional guidance. She also facilitates grief support groups for families experiencing the loss of loved ones, helping clients process grief, develop coping skills, and find connection during difficult seasons.
Her approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. Aly draws from cognitive-behavioral strategies, solution-focused counseling, and strengths-based practices to help clients build resilience, improve emotional wellness, and take meaningful steps toward healing and growth. Whether in an office setting, a virtual space, or even outdoors, she is honored to provide a safe and welcoming environment where clients can feel heard, encouraged, and empowered to move forward with hope.
Aly and her husband are the proud parents of a blended family of four children and one energetic Aussie Shepherd. When not working with families to find their best life, Aly and her husband can be found continuing their quest to experience all of the National Parks and exploring the best backcountry spots to camp.
