

Julie Scott
Julie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified School Counselor. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Mercer University and her Masters in Education in school counseling from Lamar University. She continued her education at Lamar in Clinical and Mental Health.
Julie has gained valuable experience while working in the school setting. She often works with students struggling with various issues such as anxiety, self-harm, ADHD, social skills, anger, and grief. At MindRight Counseling she uses her experience and knowledge working with children, teens, and their parents to help them navigate the stressors that can be present in their world.
Julie uses an eclectic approach to therapy. She will often use Cognitive Behavior Therapy to change thought patterns as well as Solution Focused Therapy to uncover solutions that work. Working in a school setting Julie has learned the valuable resources of incorporating mindfulness, games, activities, art, and other techniques to bring about change.
Julie has been married to her husband, Michael, for 27 years. They have four children and one grandson. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandson.
