Welcome Alysia Hanes, M.Ed., LPC to MindRight Counseling & Coaching

Alysia Hanes, M.Ed. LPC

We are excited to welcome Alysia Hanes, M.Ed., LPC, to our team of compassionate mental health professionals. Aly brings over 20 years of experience in education and counseling, along with a genuine passion for helping children, teens, adults, and families navigate life's challenges with confidence and hope.

A Counselor Who Understands Every Stage of Life

Aly earned her Master of Education in Counseling and Developmental School Counseling from Lamar University and holds an undergraduate degree in Exercise Sports Science. Before becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, she spent 16 years as an elementary physical education coach, giving her a unique understanding of child development, emotional wellness, and the importance of helping young people thrive both physically and mentally. Her diverse background allows her to connect naturally with children, adolescents, parents, and adults seeking practical support during difficult seasons of life.

Helping Children, Parents, and Families

Throughout her career, Aly has worked extensively as an elementary school counselor, providing:

  • Individual counseling

  • Small group counseling

  • Crisis intervention

  • Conflict resolution

  • Trauma-informed support

  • Social-emotional skill development

She also has extensive experience leading grief support groups for families who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Aly understands that grief looks different for every person and strives to create a safe space where healing can begin. Whether clients are facing anxiety, life transitions, family stress, grief, or emotional challenges, Aly works alongside them to build resilience and discover practical tools for lasting growth.

A Compassionate and Practical Approach

Aly believes counseling should be collaborative, encouraging, and focused on helping clients move forward. She integrates evidence-based approaches including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Strengths-Based Counseling

  • Trauma-Informed Care

Her goal is to help clients better understand themselves, develop healthy coping skills, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Clients often appreciate Aly's warm, approachable style and her ability to create a welcoming environment where they feel genuinely heard and supported.

Life Outside the Counseling Office

When she's not working with clients, Aly enjoys spending time with her husband and their blended family of four children. They also share life with an energetic Australian Shepherd who keeps everyone active. Together, they love exploring the outdoors and are on a mission to visit every U.S. National Park, often seeking out beautiful backcountry camping destinations along the way.

Now Accepting New Clients

MindRight Counseling & Coaching is proud to have Aly as part of our counseling team. She offers counseling for children and families, both in-person in North Richland Hills and virtually throughout Texas. If you or someone you love is looking for compassionate, practical support from an experienced counselor, Aly would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth.
