Daniel Cox
Daniel is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been practicing since 2019. He received his master’s degree in counseling psychology from Nelson University f/k/a Southwestern Assemblies of God University. He also completed his bachelor’s degree in social work at The University of North Texas.
He faithfully served a local school district for 17 years as a teacher and counselor working with students with special needs, who are at-risk, or are in crisis. Prior to obtaining his LPC licensure, he spent 15 years serving as a lay counselor for a local ministry teaching and facilitating groups for personal growth and inner-healing seminars. Daniel worked with adolescents and adults, in religious settings, the classroom, and in the wilderness.
Known for his patient, welcoming, and laid-back approach, Daniel creates a non-judgmental environment where clients can honestly open up knowing that they are being heard, seen and valued. He partners with teens and adults who are working through a variety of challenges, including family of origin issues, relationship struggles, educational difficulties, addictions and many other obstacles or challenges encountered throughout life. His therapeutic strategies are eclectic but rooted in cognitive behavior therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, and solution-focused therapy. Daniel’s approach is to help clients navigate the peaks and valleys of life while searching for and discovering the next step in their journey for healing and personal growth.
Daniel loves to travel the globe with his daughter and wife of 22 years. You may also find him trekking in the mountains of Colorado, running the local roads or doing outdoor projects around his home. But always seeking the next challenge and adventure in the great outdoors!
